Fountain - 1985

This was Adrian’s first ever public sculpture commission and he leapt at the opportunity to pay tribute to his hero, the artist Jean Tinguely with the style of the work. Made from various pieces of mechanical junk, the viewer winds a large handle on the side of the pond making the wheels turn, water is scooped and pumped up, then eventually squirted out the top of the waving pipe, much to the surpirse of those walking by the pond.
